World Environment Day Celebration at St. Paul’s English School, Rangapara

St. Paul’s English School, Rangapara, observed World Environment Day with a special plantation drive organized by the students. The program reflected the school’s commitment to spreading awareness about environmental conservation and instilling eco-friendly values in young learners. Students, teachers, and parents came together to make the event meaningful and impactful.

Plantation Drive for a Greener Future

The day began with a short assembly where the Principal addressed the students, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in protecting nature. She emphasized the theme of World Environment Day and encouraged students to be responsible caretakers of the planet. Soon after, students took part in a plantation drive within the school campus, planting saplings of indigenous trees, flowering plants, and medicinal herbs. Each class was allotted an area to maintain and nurture, symbolizing their responsibility towards nature.

Active Student Participation

With the guidance of teachers, students enthusiastically dug pits, watered the plants, and placed name tags on each sapling. Alongside the plantation, awareness sessions were conducted through short skits and speeches on topics such as reducing plastic waste, preserving biodiversity, and adopting sustainable habits. The younger students participated in drawing and poster-making competitions, creatively expressing their concern for the environment. Parents and local community members who attended also applauded the efforts of the children.

A Message of Responsibility

The highlight of the day was the unity displayed by the entire school community in working towards a greener tomorrow. The Principal concluded the event by stressing that small actions like planting trees can bring about significant change when pursued collectively. Students pledged to take care of their saplings and spread the message of environmental stewardship in their homes and neighborhoods.
